The difference is hardness allows for both edge retention and flex without breaking. 

Designed for maximum impact, the custom Small Yakuza LL comes adorned with green mammoth ivory scales with some of the most distinct grain patterns, along with a matching copper and iron mokume (wood-grain metal) bolster and thumb disc.
