The HEAdesigns Equilibrium V2 is a folding pocket scimitar - enough said. Inspired by the legendary curved blades of ancient warfare, the Equilibrium is a modern-day tribute to the ingenuity of this storied edged implement.
The original 9th-century scimitars were popular with the cavalry of the Persian, Turkish, and Mongolian armies. The curved blade made it ideal for slashing as they galloped past on horseback. Taking a leaf from that design, the Equilibrium features a sweeping 3.5” Bohler M390 super steel blade with a stylized swedge and two-tone sandblast and hand sanded flat finish.
The body is machined from 6AL4V titanium with a cleverly contoured design for comfortable handling and a multi-step interior scalloping for weight reduction. In addition, after hundreds of modifications, the Equilibrium boasts a cleverly hidden blade in the closed position and a sculpted clip to match the flow, resulting in a stunningly cohesive and commanding profile.
Completing this modern-day masterpiece is a custom HEA pivot with Torx accommodations for easy maintenance, multi-row ceramic bearings for smoothness of deployment, blind screwed clip and lanyard pin for a streamlined aesthetic, and custom titanium screws and standoffs to bring it all together.
