My carry is all about the titanium.
- Flashlight: Barrel Flashlight Co. M2JN
I think the foundation of any good EDC includes a reliable flashlight. I chose this flashlight because of the full titanium construction, which provides lightweight strength with the Cree-XPL LEDs providing up to 900 lumens. The design and custom elements make this flashlight stand out and complement the rest of my gear.
- Knife: Spyderco Sage 2
I chose this knife because it's the perfect size for EDC. With its titanium scales, 3 inch S30V blade, and its wire deep pocket clip, this blade is at home in dress pants or jeans. Spyderco design elements include a blade hole for deployment with a finger choil which makes it easier to deploy.
- Multitool: Brasswerx Titanium Pioneer X
Swiss Army knives have been carried by people since 1891. The popularity and utility have given rise to custom models. I chose this one, which was created by Brasswerx because it features a Pioneer X toolset with polished tools housed in titanium scales with screwed construction. This combination provides me with a multitool that can take on most tasks and do it with style.
- Prybar: LynchNW All Access Pass V2.0
I chose this pry due to the small size and titanium construction with a deep carry clip. This mini powerhouse can come in handy when you least expect it, as a pry or bottle opener. The design of this pry makes it an EDC favorite for many.
- Pen: WE Knives TP03B
I chose this pen because of the strong titanium construction and smooth bolt action mechanism which allows for pocket carry without fear of having it open accidentally. This pen also has a carbide glass breaker feature on its tail end. Life is too short to carry an ugly pen.
- Hank: Blue Label Hanks
I chose this hank because the design and construction are second to none. Hanks are handy for multiple uses, which are only limited by your imagination. The multiple prints add style and uniqueness to your carry.
What's your story:
My name is Justin. I am a law enforcement officer, currently posted in the Pacific Northwest. My daily duties include everything from responding to 911 calls, conducting investigations, as well as performing patrols in urban and rural areas.
I became interested in EDC, after purchasing my first folding pocket knife - a Kershaw Blur. I began to learn via social media, that a good way to consider your EDC, is to consider what minimal gear would aid you in surviving an emergent emergency situation.
The more I consider different situations and environments, the more I see the opportunity to add additional gear or tailor the carry to meet anticipated requirements.
In my free time, I enjoy going to movies and outdoor activities, including hiking and fishing.
Favorite EDC Tool:
My favorite is the Brasswerx Pioneer X. I love the toolset that its constructed with, which includes a main blade, a bottle opener, can opener, awl, screwdriver, wire stripper, and scissors. The titanium scales add strength and style.
What's On Your Gear Radar:
I've really been considering a Chris Reeves Knife (CRK). I'm thinking of an Umnumzaan for my first one. The fit and finish of CRKs seem to be the benchmark that other EDC knives are measured against.
