Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature one member of the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.
From Phoenix, Arizona, we talk to Salem (@scppave) who’s currently a student who has a noble ambition to pursue a career in law enforcement. Since being gifted a Spyderco Endura 4 by his father, Salem fell in love with knives and has begun avidly collecting them. Read on for his full rig rundown, and to find out what’s next on his gear radar!
Featured Tools:
- Knife 01: Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 21
This is one of my favorite primary knives because even though it is well built and solid, it still cuts really well.
-
Knife 02: GEC #15 Crown Lifter
I also carry a Great Eastern Cutlery #15 Crown Lifter as a backup knife. I picked this one because the blade shape is the opposite of the Sebenza and the bottle-opener and screwdriver functions are great things to have.
- SAK: Victorinox Classic
The Victorinox Classic lives on my keys and is mainly around for the tweezers.
- Pen: Sharpie
This is a Sharpie Grip that I modified to use Pilot G2 ink cartridges.
- Watch: Citizen
My watch is a Promaster Diver BN0150-28E. I changed the strap out for a Barton Bands nylon strap.
Background:
I really got into EDC when my dad first gave me a Spyderco Endura 4 a while back. When time allows, I indulge in my hobbies which include collecting knives, exploring the outdoors, and watching movies.
Favorite EDC Tool:
Picking a favorite piece of gear is hard. I really enjoy the practicality of the Sebenza but the feel of the GEC #15 is also wonderful.
What's On Your Gear Radar:
I think a watch upgrade might be worth looking into.
