Featured Tools:
- Knife: Chris Reeve Large Sebenza (Knife Art Edition)
My daily carry is a Large Carbon Fiber Sebenza (Knife Art Edition) with an Adam Purvis White Timascus Clip. I love the Sebenza, it's an extremely well-designed knife.
The carbon fiber keeps the knife lightweight while the Timascus clip adds some flare. I think the Sebenza is one of the best knives on the market. It's practically bomb proof and has such a useful blade shape. Also, they have some of the best customer service in the business.
- Pen: Urban Survival Gear TiScribe
This is my Urban Survival Gear TiScribe Titanium Pen with a Timascus Clip. I love the weight and size of this pen. It is the perfect EDC pen.
- iPhone Case: Pitaka
On my phone is a Pitaka Carbon Fiber Case. Super thin and lightweight, it's almost like not having a case.
- Pry Bar: Casey Lynch V3.0
The Casey Lynch Pry Bar is one of my favorite items that I carry. It's super light and sturdy with so many uses. Casey is also one of the nicest makers out there. - Keychain: Japanese Brass Hook
My keychain is a Japanese hook style clip that I picked up from Best Made Co. a few years back. I love how minimal and clean it makes my keys look.
- Flashlight: Tain Aurora
My flashlight is a Tain Aurora. The precision milling is what originally caught my eye. I carry it so often because of the compact size and powerful beam. I've paired it with a Mokume bead from Reylight.
- Money Clip: Craighill
I use a Craighill brass money clip. Again, like my keys, it's minimal design is what keeps it in my pocket.
- Wallet: Fouts
Lastly, to try and keep the bulk in my pockets to an acceptable level, I carry a card sleeve. This one, from Fouts, is made out of Horween leather and just keeps getting better with age.
Background:
I'm based in New York City and I’m the Executive Chef of a popular restaurant in Midtown Manhattan.
The start of my EDC journey can be traced back to when I was a little kid in the Boy Scouts. That's when I got my first knife and learned how to appreciate pocket tools. Ever since then I’ve always carried a knife.
My hobbies include looking for the next best EDC tool, hanging out with my dog, family, cooking, photography, and woodworking.
Favorite EDC Tool:
I love my Sebenza. It's not my first and it probably won't be my last. In my opinion, it is the epitome of a perfect EDC knife. It's a knife that I know can abuse and clean up like new.
The blade is such a classic shape and the S35VN steel is easy to sharpen back to a razors edge. The carbon fiber and Adam Purvis clip make it special and set it apart.
What's On Your Gear Radar:
I have been wanting a Gareth Bull Shamwari for a while now. I haven't been quick enough to get one just yet.
