With a penchant for traditional blades, William (@the_finest_tradition) carries 2 different Buck knives on a daily basis. His EDC journey started out of sheer necessity, and since then he’s never been without his tools. Read on for the full story and find out all about William’s swashbuckling dual blade carry!
Featured Tools:
- Knife 01: Buck 110
I carry two knives daily. Reason being the Buck 501 is a custom gifted to me by my daughter. It has black buffalo horn scales, nickel silver bolsters and a mirror polish 420HC blade with an inscribed with a message to me. I carry it every day but use it very little; it's more sentimental.
- Knife 02: Buck 110
The Buck 110 in this picture is one of many I carry. It's my favorite knife model and I collect them. I love the old school American traditional knives made with natural materials. This particular 110 has cocobolo wood scales, nickel silver bolsters and a D2 flat grind clip point blade.
- Flashlight: Olight I3E
I work in Seattle and we have months of grey skies and short days so I am in the habit of carrying a flashlight with me daily. This is an Olight I3E in solid copper and it’s small enough where I barely notice its presence yet it really pumps out the lumens.
- Hank: Frozen North Works
I carry a hank every day to dab sweat or clean my glasses. This one is from Frozen North Cloth Works out of Canada.
Background:
I first got into EDC when I managed the warehouse and I needed to carry certain tools daily. These tools have never left me and I still find uses for them today, every day.
My hobbies include hiking and backpacking with family and friends frequently. I also sharpen and restore knives in my free time.
Favorite EDC Tool:
My favorite piece is my Buck 501, the smaller knife there because it was a gift from my daughter and the blade is inscribed with a message to me.
What's On Your Gear Radar:
What's on my radar next? There's a lot. I'm looking at the Buck 501 from SK Blades coming later this month. CPM-154 blade and burlap micarta scales, it looks pretty sweet!
