I'd been waiting for this release for a while and was excited to finally get a hold of one. I'm a big fan of Vox designs and have been tending towards smaller knives as my collecting hobby has progressed, the Jib was a must have!
What I find most interesting about this little guy is the faithfulness to the F5 design but on a smaller scale. But for the clip (an improvement IMO) and the jimping on the backspacer, the Jib is identical but maybe 10% smaller proportionally. There's noticeable texturing on the Jib's micarta handles compared the F5 (both green micarta, and an upgrade, IMO) but I'm not certain that isn't just wear on my F5.
The size difference is noticeable on a couple points; I have to thumb "roll" the knife open rather then flick, Jib and F5 respectively, but that's just easier for my hand size, and the Jib can definitely be flicked with a bit more effort at thumb purchase in the smaller hole. That said, the fit in hand is ideal for a smaller knife. The finger choil and lower clip profile make the knife ergonomically perfect in my hand, and like the F5, the blade style is, IMO, the most functional design for any and all daily use.
Bottom line: Great knife, good price with high quality (especially these days, the cost of some of these knives is pushing me out of the hobby), very useable knife and easy carry, and of course, UrbanEDC was a joy to deal with, super fast shipping and ordering ease. Highly recommended!
