Hailing from Saarbrücken, Germany, Max (@edc_junk) first got into EDC after seeing a picture of the Koch Tools Solo. Since then, he has successfully acquired his grail knife after a 2-year long search. Read on for Max’s full rig rundown and find out what he’s eyeing for his next big-ticket purchase.
Featured Tools:
- Knife 01: Ansø Monte-Carlo
Jens is a knifemaker from Denmark. This thing is a real unicorn and a grail for me. The titanium scales are so nice to handle. It‘s a genius design. I’ve attached a STASIAK Gunner Ti bead from Monkey Edge for more control.
-
Knife 02: Victorinox Cadet Alox (2017 Limited Edition)
For me, it‘s the perfect little thing for everything. I carry it in my backpack most of the time. The bead is from Etsy, so it‘s a really cheap one. -
Wallet: Trayvax Element
I’ve used it for a year now and it‘s great! It‘s small and perfect for carrying in the front pocket. The leather is so nice to touch and I’ve attached a coin card for 10€ coins max. The bead is also a grail for me. It‘s a Scoopyloop from Jon Brown - very rare and in Ti. - Coin: Swiss
This is a 5 CHF from Switzerland. A barkeeper searched it in the cash register for me. 1994 is my birthday year ;)
- Hank: Hanksbyhank
Orange flannel hankie from Hanksbyhank. I use it for pictures and little dust cleaning.
Background:
I’m Max from Saarbrücken, based in Germany and currently a civil engineering student. I don’t really have any hobbies aside from EDC, which is a big one.
Aside from being a student, I’m also a skilled craftsman for windows and shutters, which gives me something else to do. In my free time, I hang out with my friends or indulge in gaming.
I first got into EDC after seeing a picture of the Koch Tools Solo on Instagram. This led me to more EDC-related accounts, and that’s how my EDC game began.
Favorite EDC Tool:
My all-time favorite is the Anso Monte Carlo, which I searched for 2 years before finding one. In Germany with its strict knife laws, the Monte Carlo is legal to carry. So it’s better for me than a Strider or another frame-lock folder. The ball liner lock system of the Monte Carlo is just so awesome.
What's On Your Gear Radar:
Next on my radar is an Okluma DC-1 in aluminum. It’s the perfect EDC flashlight, simpler than an Oveready BOSS.
