All the way from Bratislava, Slovakia, we talk to David (@deltaedc) who is both a lawyer and entrepreneur. David’s interest in knives started with his grandfather, who gifted him his first SAK, and his passion was recently rekindled when he bought himself a knife ‘out of the blue’. Read on for the full rig rundown of beautifully assembled (and photographed) everyday carry.

Perfect main blade for me. It just disappears in my pocket leaving a lot of room for other stuff. I barely notice it when carrying it and can fit my hand in my pocket without it being in its way. And it is also a fun to play with! That’s what most of us use the flippers for anyway, haha!

SAK: Victorinox Pioneer 2017 Limited Edition
Probably my most used item from all pictured. I tend to carry either the Pioneer or Cadet every day. It is compact, useful, great looking and cheap. It has all the tools you could possibly need during your regular day. Can´t even remember how many times a SAK saved my day. I really love this knife. - Flashlight: Muyshondt Aeon Mk. III
I got this flashlight from Urban EDC Supply and couldn't be happier about it. I use it literally every day. It is so small, yet such a powerful device I carry it all the time. It is very handy especially during the winter time when it gets dark very soon. I mostly use it when I am leaving for the work or coming to bed late at night and don't want to wake up my significant other or our baby.
- Wallet: Secrid Mini Wallet
Usually, I carry only my cards and some cash with me so I wanted my wallet to be as minimal as possible. (I got my Midori for other stuff) and the Secrid Mini Wallet fulfilled all my needs. It offers up safe storage for up to 6 cards with easy access and plenty of room for notes. It also offers RFID protection which is really great.
- Notebook: Midori Traveler’s Notebook
In this modern technological era, I am kind of old-fashioned. I like to write my notes or schedule meetings the old way. Whenever an idea presents itself, I can easily write it down and it stays safe as long as my journal is with me. Midori Traveler’s notebook can be personalized to my needs with various inserts which is really great. It stores not only my thoughts but also receipts and cards I don't usually need on daily basis. It is a great and compact way to stay organized.
- Pen: Peter Döring Mini Pen
As I mentioned I like to write my notes the old way so carrying a good pen is an absolute necessity for me. The Mini Pen that Peter does is very compact, good looking and also feels nice in hand. I carry it every day clipped on the left front pocket of my jeans. Easily accessible, and always on hand.
- Utility Tool: Cypop by Lucas Burnley
This is a very nicely designed bottle opener/self-defense tool by Lucas Burnley. But for me, it is much more than that. It represents what all the BRNLY community stands for “to work hard and do good”. There are lots of truly amazing people within this community that inspire me with all the great things they do every day and really make me want to be a better man. Moreover, it is really satisfying to open a well-deserved bottle of beer with my Cypop after a long day of work and just enjoy myself.
- Sheath: Greg Stevens Design
This black leather pouch done by Greg is a perfect way to store my Cypop. Looks great and keeps it protected. I also give it to my baby girl when she is becoming restless so she can have something to play with (if nothing else helps) and it works!
Background:
My name is David and I am a lawyer and entrepreneur based in Bratislava, Slovakia. I enjoy hiking, playing football, visiting interesting places and spending time outdoors with my family.
And thanks to the EDC community, I have rediscovered my passion for photography which helps me relax and makes me want to go out more to discover lots of amazing places I haven't seen before.
The roots of my passion for EDC were probably started in my early childhood by my grandfather who gave me my first knife (it was an old Swiss Army Knife that I cherished deeply).
I remember how I used to follow him around always looking for opportunities to use it in some way. I was very lucky that I (as his only grandson) could spend so much time with him since he was already retired. That probably drove him to continually come up with various projects of his own where he always had the right tools on him. I wanted to be just like him.
But as I grew older that memory kind of faded away until a few years back when I just, out of the blue, bought a new knife for myself. Then it all came back to me and ever since a knife had become an essential part of my everyday life, followed by other useful EDC items over time.
Favorite EDC Tool:
My most favorite item would be a Swiss Army Knife, because of all the memories it brings out and you just can't deny its usefulness in such a compact package. A day probably can´t go by without me using one of my SAK´s.

Next, I would like to get my hands on a slip joint by Jared Oeser or Brad Blount. Knives that these guys create have pleased my eyes for a long time now.
